What makes our pumps so good compared to the competition?

We believe that the features we pack into our pumps ensure that we can perform better than the traditional alternative pumps.

CAN HANDLE HARD SOLIDS

Dakk peristaltic hose pumps have excellent solid handling abilities. As a rule we suggest 25% of the ID of the hose for single solids and slurries with a solid percentage of up to 80% are generally passable without issues.

50% MORE FLOW 80% REDUCTION IN FRICTION

Unlike most peristaltic pumps the Dakk pump features an innovative 360° roller design, in which the hose is only compressed once per full revolution. Resulting in up to 50% more flow per revolution, and eliminating up to 80% of the friction caused by a competitors sliding shoe design.

WILL DRY RUN WITHOUT DAMAGE

Dakk peristaltic pumps can run without anything to pump. The pumps can operate completely unharmed even if there is a line blockage or some other problem which interrupts the flow to the pump. This is more often than not the reason for rotor and stator failures in progressive cavity pumps. During the pump development we operated the pump dry for 24 hours and then pumped as normal without any noticeable drop in performance.

WILL AUTOMATICALLY SELF PRIME ON START UP

The powerful vacuum suction provided by the recovery of a special re-enforced hose gives Dakk peristaltic pumps a fully self-priming action. There is no need to prime the Pumpkin peristaltic pump to get it started as is often the case with centrifugal and progressive cavity type pumps. Just turn it on.

NO SLIP; UNLIKE CONVENTIONAL TYPES OF PUMPS

Dakk pumps have no internal back flow thus provide accurate dosing without any slip.

LOWER RUNNING COSTS A MAJOR DESIGN INFLUENCE

The only major replacement wear part within a Dakk Pump is the easily replaced hose, and due to the Pumpkins' low friction design this is now required a lot less frequently than in competitors’ pumps.Maintenance consists of removing the old hose, and then installing the new hose and coolant. Due to the simplicity of the design repair work can generally be done in-situ and only takes minutes.See The Articles page for examples

EASY TO ADJUST OUTLET PRESSURE

The outlet pressure can be increased and decreased with the rotation of a knob. No shims no strip down to change rollers or shoes. Open the pump, turn the dial, lock it in place and run the pump.

MODERN MANUFACTURING TECHNIQUES ENSURE PERFECT PUMPS

All components are designed and manufactured using the latest CAD software and up to date manufacturing technics to ensure that all the Pumpkin products are built to very high standards resulting in exceptional quality products.

ADJUST THE SPEED TO SUIT THE SITE CONDITIONS

Peristaltic pumps are positive displacement devices and frequency invertors can be used to control the pump speed and therefore the flow. The Dakk Pumps can be operated at almost any speed. Centrifugal pumps can become problematic if they are slowed down to below the manufactures pump curve, with the Pumpkin Pump you can operate at practically any speed according the site requirements not the pumps needs.

ONLY THE HOSE LINER TOUCHES THE PUMPED MEDIA

Hose life is not related to a product’s abrasive qualities. The hose only fails due to fatigue or chemical action.Because of the unique pumping action of the Pumpkin peristaltic pump abrasive products are not a problem, we have successfully pumped oily sludge that has been recovered and dewatered from scale pits in steel works without problems.

CAN SUCK BETTER THAN CONVENTIONAL PUMPS

The powerful suction provided by the recovery of a specially constructed re-enforced hose gives the Pumpkin peristaltic pump suction lift capabilities up to 8m of water and creates a fully self-priming action.

LOWER FRICTION = SMALLER MOTORS

Energy efficient by utilising smaller motors. The large reduction in friction means the Dakk pump requires a smaller motor than the competition.
